Recovery on Campus: Lived Stories from Our Community

Healthy Campus Team Season 3 Episode 1

In this episode, MRU faculty member Dr. Stasha Huntingford sits down with MRU student Dylan for a conversation about navigating recovery as a member of a university community. Together, they explore what recovery can look like for students, staff, and faculty—on campus and beyond—and how post-secondary environments can both support and challenge the recovery journey.

Stasha and Dylan discuss the impacts of stigma, acknowledging how misconceptions and silence can create barriers to accessing support. They also highlight the strengths of the peer support model, emphasizing the importance of connection, shared experience, and community in building sustainable recovery pathways.
